The story of Bij Keesje

In 2018, Anne-Claire thought it was time to bring some fun, new and refreshing items to the young, Christian market. She noticed that there was little choice in the existing market, and that is how Bij Keesje was born.

If you're wondering where the name Bij Keesje comes from: Anne-Claire was looking for a name that would stick, preferably linked to her own name. Her father's name is Kees and her baptismal name is Cornelia, so she became Bij Keesje. A pleasant, typically Dutch name.

She went shopping with her mother and built a website. Here they sold the first items from home. There was a request to try on the clothes. When it was no longer possible to keep track of this at home, we quickly looked for a shop. In 2019 she opened the first branch of Bij Keesje. The store is no longer here, but we will use it again soon. More about this later.

The store was small, had two fitting rooms, but was large enough for people to try on items from the collection. This building soon became too small, but it was possible to expand, and so it happened. The store was almost tripled in size and so the entire building became the Bij Keesje store. More space, three fitting rooms and a small office indoors. What a great step this was! But we grew and grew, and there were soon lines outside this building, because the space inside was too small. Customers increasingly came from further afield and wanted the opportunity to try on the clothing properly. Across the street, on the same property, we were able to acquire another building. This has been completely renovated from top to bottom. Everything had to be done and everything was done. We got a shop, office and warehouse under one roof! This store opened on December 18, 2021 and we were so proud to welcome people there. Unfortunately, this was only possible for one day, because due to the corona crisis measures, we had to close after this weekend and were only allowed to open by appointment. Fortunately, these measures are now a thing of the past and we can welcome you all at the same time.

Nowadays, our parking lot is being expanded, so that the traffic coming our way can be managed even better. And to come back to our very first shop: this will be our photo studio! Completely renovated and furnished according to the latest trends, to give you a beautiful and good impression of our latest collections! We are so happy with this.
